How Viibes works
What is an energy score?
Every player and team gets an energy score from 0 to 100 for every game, every day, in every sport. It’s our proprietary read on how likely a player is to meet or beat his expected stat line that day. Fame doesn’t factor in: a bench player at 92 is a stronger read than a star at 60.
Reading the colors
85 and up glows ice white: high energy, our strongest Overs. 65 to 84 is blue: solid energy. Under 65 is peach: low energy, where Unders and fades live. Each game’s players are ranked from highest to lowest energy.
Lines
A line is the stat a player is expected to hit, like 24.5 points. During the beta, each line is the player’s season average for his main stat, counting only games before that day. Sportsbook prop lines will replace them once our licensed data feed is connected.
Overs, Unders and fades
High energy points to the Over: the player meets or beats his line. Low energy points to the Under, also called a fade: the player finishes below his line.
Building your card
Add players and teams to your card before games start. Picks lock at game time and can’t be changed afterward, so every record is real. Share your card straight to Instagram, TikTok, X and more.
How picks are graded
After each game, picks are graded automatically from the official box score. A player pick wins if he meets or beats his line. A team pick wins if the team wins. If a player doesn’t play, the pick is No action and doesn’t count toward your record.
Main stats by sport
NBA: points. NFL: quarterbacks passing yards, running backs rushing yards, receivers and tight ends receiving yards. MLB: hitters hits, pitchers strikeouts. NHL: skaters shots on goal, goalies saves. Soccer: shots.

Glossary
- Action
- A bet that’s in play. “Having action” on a game means you have money riding on it.
- ATS (Against the spread)
- Whether a team covered the point spread, not just whether it won. A team can lose the game and still win ATS.
- Bankroll
- The total money you’ve set aside for betting, kept separate from everyday money.
- Card
- Your picks for a day or slate. On Viibes, My Card holds every pick you’ve added.
- Chalk
- The favorite, or the popular side most people are betting.
- Cover
- To win by more than the spread (as a favorite) or lose by less than it (as an underdog).
- Dog (Underdog)
- The team or player expected to lose, usually paying better odds.
- Energy score
- Viibes’ 0–100 read for every player and team, every game. Higher means more likely to meet or beat the line.
- Fade
- To bet against a player, team or person. On Viibes, a low-energy player is a fade: we expect him under his line.
- Favorite
- The team or player expected to win, usually paying lower odds.
- Handle
- The total amount of money bet on a game or market.
- Juice (Vig)
- The sportsbook’s cut built into the odds. At standard −110, you risk $110 to win $100.
- Line
- The number a bet is graded against, like a point spread, a game total or a player’s stat (24.5 points).
- Lock
- Slang for a pick someone thinks can’t lose. No pick is guaranteed.
- Moneyline (ML)
- A bet on who wins the game outright, with no spread.
- No action
- A bet that’s cancelled and refunded, for example when a player doesn’t play. It doesn’t count as a win or a loss.
- Odds
- The price of a bet. American odds: −150 means risk $150 to win $100; +150 means risk $100 to win $150.
- Over
- Betting that a stat or total finishes at or above the line.
- O/U (Over/Under)
- A bet on whether a number, like a player’s points or a game’s total, finishes over or under the line.
- Parlay
- Several picks combined into one bet. Every leg must win, so the payout is bigger and the odds are longer.
- Pass
- Choosing not to play a game. Passing is a decision too.
- Play
- A pick someone is making, as in “my top play tonight.”
- Prop (Player prop)
- A bet on an individual player’s stat, like points, yards or strikeouts.
- Push
- When the result lands exactly on the line. The bet is refunded and doesn’t count as a win or loss.
- ROI (Return on investment)
- Profit divided by the total amount risked. A key way bettors measure long-term results.
- Sharp
- An experienced, disciplined bettor, or the money they bet.
- Slate
- All the games on a given day or night.
- Spread (Point spread)
- The margin a favorite must win by, or an underdog can lose by, for a bet to cover.
- Tail
- To copy someone else’s pick.
- Total
- The combined score of both teams in a game, bet as Over or Under.
- Under
- Betting that a stat or total finishes below the line.
- Unit
- A standard bet size, often 1–2% of a bankroll. Results in units compare fairly across bet sizes.
- W-L-P
- A record of wins, losses and pushes, like 12-7-1.
- Win %
- Wins divided by graded picks (wins plus losses). Pushes and No action don’t count.
